"YOU GUYS READ THE SCRIPTURES"

HELLO!!! K a few things first. 1) This place is the best 2) Everyday I am here I learn more about why I am here now rather than back in April. I am so blessed to be here, I LOVE IT! 3) HAPPY THANKSGIVING 4) Black Friday shopping... 5) We got a Twix last night! Best thing of my life 6) GOOD LUCK TODAY DAD!! I've been thinking about you all week and am praying that your surgery goes well. I know you will be blessed and you will heal quickly.  It will be so nice to have a good hip again. I can't wait to go running with you in a couple months. I cant even believe that I have been here for a month.  Its been so fast but this place is the weird time warp. The days feel like weeks and the weeks feel like days. Literally that was the fastest week of my entire life. I just love everything here. 

K real quick about Guatemala. The weather is PERFECT. They call this place like the country of eternal spring. Its legit the best weather right now. My hair does great here, when I use hair spray usually. Some days its huge and puffy. One day an elder goes, You can tell its rainy and humid cause Hermana Oliphants hair is growing! Hahahaha funny!! I laughed at least. What else...Um ya we haven't had a chance to see much of Guatemala but everyone here says my mission is the best. It isn't even in the city really...if you look at a map, it is like the southern coast. We have the best lakes and volcanoes and cities. So I am stoked!! The temple here is tiny. SO SMALL!! I literally love it. This place is beautiful. We get to move this week. To the third floor which just finished being constructed, so I will let you know how our new rooms are. Apparently they are way nice!!

I wish I had more piano music. Somebody played a Paul Cardall song in sacrament yesterday and I wish I just had more music. I play when I have a little free time before and after meals. There's a couple elders here who ask me to just play all the time. There's this one who like hunts me down to listen when I'm playing...its a little uncomfortable for me but I love to play cause people enjoy it. Yesterday I played the piano while a bunch of my Latina hermana friends sang hymns. I LOVE THE LATINAS HERE!! Well actually just all the missionaries, but the Latina hermanas here right now have become some of my best friends. I am so sad they are leaving this week, but I am so blessed that I was able to meet them. They are so sweet and so fun!!

My district is the best. I know that there's a reason I am in the district I am in, and with the companion I am with. Hermana Newman says to tell you all Hello! hahaha I just love all the people here. The kitchen Staff!! They are the best. They all know my name and I am trying to remember theirs, but they are so sweet!! AHH I LOVE THESE PEOPLE. 

My teachers. Hermano Lopez is one of the 3 Nephites. Positive on that one. He will be a prophet in a couple years i am pretty sure.  He is the smartest person doctrinally, spiritually and everything. I love talking to him about everything. He makes me want to learn more and be better. I am so grateful he is my teacher. I am so blessed.  I know that I am here in his class now for a reason. My other teacher is Hermano Hernanadez. He is so great as well. He is an incredible person. He was baptized when he was 11...he served his mission in Peru and while he was serving his dad died. Man I died when he told us that cause I thought of how grateful I am for you all!! Especially Dad this week. I thought of him a lot cause of the surgery. But you guys are literally the best. I know I shouldn't be thinking of it but I am so excited to hug you in 17 months!! It will be so fast, so I am trying my best to enjoy NOW!

What else....YOU GUYS READ THE SCRIPTURES. I am obsessed with Joseph Smith the Doctrine and Covenant. I wish I had more time to study. But for reals though, we WILL BE JUDGED ONE DAY FOR EVERYTHING WE DO ON THIS EARTH and so we need to not waste any time. "Our time on earth is our life, if we are wasting any time, we are wasting life." quote from either President Eyring or Elder Richard Scott. Don't waste a minute of the Lords time...We will never get that minute back. I feel like all I do is study here, yet I wish I had more time to study. I love learning. Weird right...but I love it! I want to read more everyday, and dig in more, and just know it all. Unfortunately it takes more time than that, but I just wish I could take everything in all at once.  I am so grateful to be here right now.

Hope you guys all have a great Thanksgiving! I don't know what we are doing here for Thanksgiving, but I do know we are starting to sing Christmas hymns and I love that!!

We had a general broadcast yesterday for the Central America area...President Eyring, and Elder Richard G Scott spoke...it was way good. They are here in Guatemala...maybe they will come visit the CCM :)
